In Sept 2015 I joined BTWL and volunteered to help with English conversation sessions. Later, when the previous coordinator of the ‘pole langues’ found employment, I took over that role. This allowed me to give something back by using my skills in English but also gave me the opportunity to organise workshops and make presentations, getting me back into the work mindset. It was motivating to meet and exchange with a great diversity of people.
In the end, with my successful job application, the previous few months of being active in BTWL gave me recent experience to draw on, and certainly boosted my confidence during the application and interview process.
